As was expected, Jeep is launching the new generation of its iconic Jeep Wrangler. The presentation will take place at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show in late November. Judging by a few photos that were made public so far, the fourth generation Wrangler will keep its distinctive body shape that can be traced back to World War II period. It will be offered in a 2-door or extended 4-door configuration. Also, a pickup truck version will be available.
Its essential attributes such as round headlights, square tail lights, seven-slot grille, removable doors and top, and folding windshield – all remain unchanged. Jeep is planning to continue production of the Wrangler JK and Wrangler Unlimited in 2018. These versions will be sold alongside the new generation model named the Wrangler JL.
The designers and engineers who created the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL promise improved fuel economy and safety. The new Wrangler Unlimited with an automatic transmission will offer 18 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on a highway, and 20 mpg overall. The previous version offers only 18 mpg. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler with a manual transmission is rated at 19 mpg overall. Better fuel economy has been achieved by reducing weight and improving aerodynamics. Also, the vehicle has received new efficient engines.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL will be offered with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine or 3.6-liter V6 equipped with start/stop system and paired with 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

Base-level models will feature a third-generation UConnect with a 5-inch display. Also, as a standard, the instrument cluster will incorporate a 3.5-inch screen, and some models will be available with a 7-inch instrument display.
Also, the new Wrangler will feature push-start button, 4G wi-fi hotspot, and audio/display controls on the steering wheel. Lastly, with regards to the promised safety improvements, potential buyers can expect parking assist, cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.
