Pro Comp Xtreme AT Review

Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrain Tires give you a tread that is astonishingly aggressive but doesn’t give you the look of a monster tire. Speaking of the tread, it is of a design that is directional in order to give you the performance you need no matter what the terrain is. The construction is made of three unique plies. This gives you the added benefit of extra protection in the sidewalls against scratches and punctures.

These Pro Comp All Terrain tires feature two steel belts in place in this tire as well as an overwrap of nylon that has been wound spirally. This means that your stability is at its peak and the load handling capabilities have been maximized. The shoulder lugs in this tire are amazingly large while the lug sipes have retained the full depth.

Knowing When You Need Them

So now that you know about the Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrain tires, how do you know when you need to replace your existing tires? The easiest way is to look at them. If they are bald (no tread), then you are past needing new tires and are a danger to yourself and anyone around you on the road. If you still have a bit of tread but are unsure if it is time or not simply look for the wear bars. These are bars that cross the width of the tire. You may also read how to determine tire age.

They are placed under most of the tread but just above the last bit of tread. When the tread wears away enough so that you can see the bars then it is time for new tires. All newer tires have these bars but if you have an older set of tires then you could always do the penny test. Stick a penny (Lincoln’s head down) in the tread.
